Dear EIA member or future member, Following the greetings from our President Olivier Debart, I would also like to take this opportunity to wish you a very good year 2010 and sincerely thank you for supporting “your” Association. In 2009, with your contribution, we move forward in lobbying for quality Irrigation by pursuing contacts with decision makers in Brussels and more significantly by joining the advisory board (BIAC) of the OECD (major organization making precise proposals to its members states).
Our voice has been heard and the reports from OEDC concerning water in agriculture and water in urban areas include our suggestions. Last November, I was able to defend our point of view in front of representatives of ministries of Agriculture from 40 countries. l continue to act as the promoter of our industry, spreading the news that our industry provides irrigation tools that preserve water and energy resources, while contributing to the essential production of food crops and to the development of healthy landscaped areas. The EIA website is still our flagship; people looking for serious irrigation industry professionals visit our website. Please ensure that your company/organization information is up to date by visiting the EIA website at: www.eia-assoc.eu For several weeks we have been working on the ambitious project of “THE EUROPEAN IRRIGATION DAYS”: a combination of an educational program and a day of conferences with a trade show.
These European Irrigation Days will be held in Aix-en-Provence (France) from March 16 to 18, 2010. They will be a unique opportunity to train your staff and to exchange with international colleagues from our field. You will soon receive detailed documentation regarding this key event. Also, it will be the opportunity to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the EIA. The European Irrigation Association was created in spring 1995 with only a few members and has recently had close to 60 members! As a loyal EIA member, you are invited by the President, Olivier Debart, to celebrate this significant milestone during a Gala Dinner in Aix-en-Provence on March 16, 2010. Let us know if you or a designated representative plans to attend. Please find attached a copy of your invoice for 2010 membership; the original has already been mailed to you.
We wish to inform you that despite the need to finance the European Irrigation Days, the board has decided for the third year not to increase the membership fees. Due to advance payments we must make for the coming event, we would appreciate your prompt remittance. Thank you very much for you support. Best regards, Christian J. Rouxel General Delegate
